Description
This is what Caroline says about making the book:
“Once upon a time there was a brain tumour, I know this isn’t usually how stories begin, but not all stories start the way you expect. I definitely didn’t expect it but a long time ago before I met Mr Gerald, this is how my story went. And although it was ok in the end there was quite a bit in the middle that wasn’t so nice.
So one day (when I had a very large pot of tea!) Mr Gerald suggested I rewrite my story. Mr G said he would help me so that I could remember things without it feeling so unpleasant”.
And so, after many pots of tea and cosying up with various blankets and snuggly items, this is what I created. I really wanted to transform my experience into something I wanted to revisit, something that I could reread and feel my heart fill with gladness, not sadness.
And I have! And it worked! I firmly believe that if you go through something difficult or painful what you need is kindness, in abundance.
Feeling responsible, ashamed or to blame does not make you feel better. Regrettably I had to live feeling to blame for a number of years before realising this was the case.
I really hope that what I have learned in the process may help to stop (or reduce) others from going through the same.
Regardless of what your story in life is, I hope you have a large pot of tea and a trusty companion who can help you to find the peace within it.
Here are some of my favourite bits
