Special breakfast
Good morning everyone and it is indeed a very good morning, very very good indeed. We made special breakfast things today, they were called quarkbrötchen, (bröt in German means bread, but its pronounced a bit like brert not brot!) there were very quick to make and we had them with butter and jam, they must have been good as I didn’t put too much jam on mine and usually I put lots on my toast!
Don’t they look tasty, this is all of them (minus what I had for my breakfast) I like the colour of them, they look quite giraffey, they even have all the colours of me on them! Here is the recipe if you would like to have a go
Quarkbrötchen
250g plain flour
About 2tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
1tsp baking powder
125g quark
4 tbsp milk
4 tbsp oil
1 egg
A handful ish of sultanas or raisins if you prefer
Put the flour salt sugar and baking powder in a bowl and mix and then make a well (it will look a bit like a bowl, but not a Super Bowl) mix together the oil egg, quark and milk then pour in to the floury stuff. Then give it a good mix, add the sultanas, it will come together but still be quite sticky. Grease a large baking tray and put blobs of mixture on to it. It will make about10 depending on big you make them. Bake in the oven at 200?C for10-15 minutes. Leave to cool then enjoy with butter and jam and of course,a pot if tea!
Although I had them for breakfast I think they would also be delicious for tea, but I’m not totally sure so I will try it out later and let you know………………………
Yep, they are definitely fine for tea time too
